Who Are We

Royalwood Associates was founded in 1982 in Raleigh, North Carolina by husband-and-wife team Don and Pat Eidson. From the start, Royalwood focused on delivering exceptional craftsmanship in wood and synthetic athletic floors, performing arts floors, commercial hardwood, and reclaimed wood flooring.

Jeff Evans joined the company in the late 1980s as a flooring installer, later taking on roles in estimating and project management. He returned in 2011 as Vice President of Sales and became President in 2013. Michelle Proden began in the accounting department in 1995 and was named CFO in 2018.

Following Don’s passing in 2021, Jeff and Michelle began jointly overseeing all aspects of the company. In July 2023, they officially purchased the company and became owners of Royalwood Associates, with Jeff continuing as President and Michelle as CFO.

Today, Royalwood’s team brings together over 200 years of combined industry experience. We install over one million square feet of flooring each year throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We are proud members of the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA), the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Royalwood is also a Charter Member of the MFMA’s Registered Installer Program.
