Flooring Installation at Thales Academy: A Behind-the-Scenes Look

At Thales Academy, creating functional and beautiful spaces is a priority. For our latest project, we had the opportunity to install a high-performance flooring system that combines durability with style, perfect for a busy educational environment. Here’s a look at how we transformed this space from start to finish.

Preparing the Space

The first step was ensuring that the foundation was solid. We took great care to prepare the existing concrete slab and protect the new flooring from moisture, creating a stable base for the system.

Building the Resilient Foundation

Next, we installed a resilient underlayment system designed to enhance comfort and performance. This layer not only supports the flooring but helps absorb impact and reduce noise—perfect for a space that sees a lot of foot traffic. The system was carefully installed to ensure it would last for many years, providing lasting support and durability.

Laying the Hardwood Flooring

Once the foundation was ready, we turned our attention to the beautiful hardwood flooring. We selected high-quality Northern Hard Maple, known for its strength and timeless look. The wood was carefully laid out to create a smooth, even surface that would stand up to the demands of the academy while adding a warm, natural aesthetic to the space.

Sealing and Finishing the Surface

After the hardwood was installed, we applied a protective seal and finish. This not only enhances the wood’s natural beauty but also provides long-lasting protection. The result is a stunning, glossy surface that will hold up to years of use.

Adding the Finishing Touches

Finally, we installed a vented wall base around the perimeter of the floor, creating a clean, polished look and ensuring that the space looks complete. This finishing touch adds to the overall durability and visual appeal of the floor.
